Someone once said: “A mind is like a parachute – it only works when it is open.” Openness and flexibility are one of the most important powers of our mind and consciousness. While it may be ‘the survival of the fittest’, it is certainly ‘the thriving of the most flexible.’
Lack of openness and flexibility are one of the most common reasons we stay stuck and don’t reach our goals. When our mind becomes rigid, our perspective becomes limited and all we can focus on are the problems and obstacles.
On the other hand, with a flexible mind, we can unmask and look beyond the assumptions and projections we’ve assumed were a reality. We are open to see ourselves and the situations we’re dealing with from various angles, analyze the details, and then take another look at the bigger picture or from a higher perspective. Flexibility increases our range of emotional and mental responses, allows us to move more quickly through feelings that are not supportive, and empowers us to consciously see and take advantage of the opportunities in every situation.
